I think Kim Davis is mentally because I watched this video.
I realize Davis has been through a lot, all of it of her own making. Nonetheless, to me this looks like someone who’s brain is short circuiting. She’s not right in the head. My amateur guess is bi-polar on a runaway manic streak.
It’s not the first time I’ve speculated about the mental illness of a public figure. I once wrote a piece entitled I Suspect Anthony Weiner is Mentally Ill.
But Weiner was a famous, wealthy, powerful scumbag. Fair game. He signed up for the ride. He bought a ticket, shoved people out of the way, cut the line, climbed aboard, and adamantly refused to strap in despite the endless warnings. And then, surprise, surprise, he got thrown from the ride. So skewering that piece of human filth was fun, quite frankly.
But I take no joy in noting what appears to be Davis’ shaky mental state. She’s not a famous, wealthy, powerful scumbag like Weiner. She’s just a regular, presumably middle class person who has made some dubious choices and is now being exploited by wealthy and powerful scumbags, some of them famous (I’m looking at you, Mike Huckabee).
You know how this ends. It all blows over. The march towards marriage equality continues. And Kim Davis is quickly forgotten. The media and the political establishment that are currently chewing her up will soon spit her out.
I suspect it will be a monumental come down for Davis in a few months. The media circus will pull up stakes leave town. Assistants to the powerful scumbags will stop responding to her texts. Nobody will still care about her or even remember her, save for all those people in her small hometown whom she pissed off, including the ones who agree with her politics but resent her for selfishly turning their beloved town into a prime time freak show that the rest of the nation mocked.
She’s the next Joe the Plumber. She’s the name no one remembers at a pub quiz five years from now.
Kim Davis: That woman who went to jail for failing to do her job and defying a court order in the name of bigotry. Was she crazy or just an asshole?
